The Show-Stopping Recipe: Creamy Parmesan and Herb Stuffed Mushrooms
These Creamy Parmesan and Herb Stuffed Mushrooms are the perfect blend of savory, creamy, and cheesy flavors, with just the right amount of herbaceous freshness to balance it all out. These bite-sized appetizers are easy to prepare, and their elegant presentation makes them look as though you spent hours in the kitchen (but really, you didn’t). They’re ideal for parties because they’re easy to eat with one hand while holding a drink in the other — and they disappear in a flash!
Ingredients:
- 20 large white mushrooms (or baby bella mushrooms)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 tsp dried thyme)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp salt (or to taste)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Extra parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prep the Mushrooms:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel. Remove the stems carefully and set the caps aside. You can chop up the stems and set them aside to use in the stuffing mixture for extra flavor.
2. Make the Filling:
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, thyme, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until smooth and well incorporated. If you like a little crunch, fold in the breadcrumbs at this stage. The breadcrumbs give a nice texture to the filling, but they’re optional if you prefer a creamier stuffing.
3. Stuff the Mushrooms:
- Carefully spoon the creamy cheese mixture into the mushroom caps. Be generous with the filling and pile it high. Don’t worry about making them too neat — a little bit of the stuffing spilling over adds to the charm!
4. Bake to Perfection:
- Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet. Drizzle the olive oil over the top of each mushroom to help them roast evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the stuffing is golden and bubbly.
5. Finish with Butter:
- Once the mushrooms are done, drizzle them with melted butter for an extra layer of richness. This gives them a gorgeous, glossy finish and an irresistible aroma.
