Ingredients:

For the meatballs:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef or a mix of ground beef and pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Olive oil (for frying)

For the potatoes:

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the cheese topping:

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix everything together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tough meatballs.
  3. Roll the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should get around 20-24 meatballs depending on the size.
  4. Heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Fry the meatballs in batches, turning them occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through (about 8-10 minutes). Set the meatballs aside on a plate and cover to keep warm.

Step 2: Prepare the Potatoes

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the potato wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Flip them halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness.
