1. **Prepare the Vegetables and Fruit**
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, apple slices, dried cranberries, and green onions (if using). Toss to combine.
2. **Make the Dressing**
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed—add a little more honey for sweetness or more vinegar for tang.
3. **Toss and Chill**
Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to a few hours) to allow the flavors to meld together.
4. **Serve**
After chilling, give the slaw a quick toss before serving. Garnish with additional cranberries or apple slices if desired.
