### **How to Make Homemade Korean Rice Face Cream**

Now that you understand the benefits of rice in skincare, it’s time to learn how to make your own homemade rice face cream. This recipe is simple, cost-effective, and uses natural ingredients that you may already have at home. By making this cream at home, you can avoid harsh chemicals and preservatives often found in store-bought products, ensuring that your skincare routine is as pure and effective as possible.

#### **Ingredients:**

– **Rice Water (1/2 cup)**: Rice water is the main ingredient that will hydrate and brighten your skin. You can easily make rice water by soaking rice in water for 30 minutes to an hour and straining it.
– **Rice Bran Oil (1 tbsp)**: Rice bran oil is rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamin E. It helps deeply moisturize the skin and fight signs of aging.
– **Aloe Vera Gel (2 tbsp)**: Aloe vera gel is known for its soothing and hydrating properties. It helps calm irritated skin and provides an extra boost of moisture.
– **Shea Butter (2 tbsp)**: Shea butter is an excellent moisturizer that contains vitamins A and E. It will leave your skin feeling soft and nourished.
– **Vitamin E Oil (1 tsp)**: Vitamin E oil is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from free radicals and encourages skin repair.
– **Essential Oil (optional, 5 drops)**: Essential oils like lavender, rose, or geranium can be added for fragrance and additional skin benefits. Lavender oil, in particular, is calming and can help with skin healing.

#### **Equipment:**

– Small saucepan or double boiler
– Mixing bowl
– Whisk or hand mixer
– Clean jar for storing the cream
– Strainer (for rice water)

#### **Instructions:**

**1. Prepare Rice Water:**

– To make rice water, rinse 1/2 cup of rice thoroughly to remove any dirt or impurities. Place the rice in a bowl and add 1 cup of water. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to an hour, then strain the water into a clean bowl.
– You can also make rice water by boiling rice and straining the water.

**2. Melt Shea Butter:**

– In a small saucepan, gently melt 2 tablespoons of shea butter over low heat or use a double boiler. Stir continuously until fully melted, ensuring it doesn’t overheat or burn.

**3. Mix the Oils:**

– In a separate bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of rice bran oil, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel, and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil. You can also add a few drops of essential oils if you wish to add fragrance to your cream.

**4. Combine the Ingredients:**

– Once the shea butter has melted, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. Slowly whisk in the rice water to the melted shea butter mixture.
– Keep whisking until the mixture thickens and emulsifies. The consistency should be smooth and creamy.
