Instructions

1. Make the Meatballs

In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined. Roll into 1.5-inch balls.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides (they don’t have to be fully cooked yet). Set aside.

2. Prepare the Gravy

In the same pan, melt butter. Add sliced onions and cook until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 1–2 minutes to make a roux.

Slowly add beef broth while stirring. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer until thickened.

Return meatballs to the pan, cover, and simmer in the gravy for 10–15 minutes, or until fully cooked.

3. Make the Mashed Potatoes

Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk (or cream), salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.

Serving Suggestions

Tips & Variations

  • Make it lighter: Use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
